So, where are you off to this morning?
Kohl's. They're having great sales, plus this is 15%-off Wednesday. I also have a coupon for 10% off. Then seniors get another 5%, and I get 5% for using my Kohl's card. Last week I saved over $100 on the shoes and dress that I bought for the next wedding we go to.
When will that be?
Not sure--but it's bound to happen within a few years.
What did you do with the money you saved?
Bought a new putter on sale at Golfsmith. And with the money I saved on that, I bought some Lady Precepts and 500 tees.
What do you need at Kohl's today?
T-shirts, shorts, and Capris. I've got some that are going to be worn out in a year or two. And where are you off to, by the way?
Sports Authority. I'll need some new shoes for that tennis tournament next fall. This week I can get $10 off on a $50 purchase--or $20 off on a $100 purchase. I just might take advantage of the larger savings and get myself some sweatpants for next winter and another dozen golf balls as backup to the 36 Titleists that I bought last week.
While you're out that way, why don't you stop in at Staples? We've got a $3 rebate certificate, so you might as well spend it on an ink cartridge. We'll be out of that cyan color by next fall.
OK. Then do you want to meet for lunch? I've got a buy-one-get-the-second-at-half-price coupon for the Paradise Bakery. Let's just be sure to use the American Express card at the restaurant, because we'll get 3% back next February in a check to be redeemed at Costco.
Lunch sounds good, but before that I need to stop at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I have a coupon for 10% off on towels, and we'll need some for the pool when the grandkids visit in the winter.
You know, with all this driving, you're going to need gas, too. Here, take my rewards card and get the gas at Cobblestone. I can use the points. A hundred more and I get a free car wash. When I'm done with my shopping, I'll wait for you at Starbucks. With my gold card, I get a free drink after I buy 15. Not only that, but today's drink is free if I buy a pound of beans to add to our supply in the pantry. I also get a free hour of WiFi with the card, so I'll take the laptop along and check our various accounts to see how much money we've been saving.
Do we have time for golf this afternoon?
Sure, if we play fast. Let's buy that special summer pass at Las Colinas. After 10 rounds a piece at the regular price, we get $5 off each round until October 15, if we play in the afternoon. I certainly don't mind playing in the heat if we can save $5.
Me either.
What about dinner?
Rubio's has fish tacos at 50 cents off on Wednesdays.
Right. And then for dessert we need to stop at the Golden Spoon for frozen yogurt because our 2-for-1 coupon expires today. That cherry pie I bought for a dollar off at Albertson's can wait until tomorrow.
OK. So what do you want to do tonight?
Mesa East Bowl is offering 50 cents off on each game this week.
But you don't like bowling.
True, but I do like saving money, so let's get rolling.
